ConnectiCon's newest event MANSERVICE is a male striptease competition for 21+ con-goers who don't shy away from the spicier side of fandom. Watch your favorite husbandos drop their trousers in a competition for the audience's heart (and loins)!

Want to participate in the sexiest event ConnectiCon has to offer? See below!

How it Works: A male cosplay burlesque competition, show us how naughty your favorite male characters are behind closed doors! Each competitor choreographs a sexy burlesque dance routine to perform on stage. A panel of judges and guests will choose their favorite performance to win the event and hand out special awards to other outstanding performers!

Stretch out those thrusting muscles and sign up NOW!

IMPORTANT: Cosplay Event Rules and Regulations are posted on the Cosplay Events main page. If you have not already, review these BEFORE you apply to any ConnectiCon events. There may be something that is run differently at this convention than others you have attended.

MANSERVICE RULES & GUIDELINES:

  • Applicants may apply as a solo or with up to two (2) backup dancers.
  • All applicants must be at least 21 years old by the day of the competition.
  • Each competitor will have a maximum of 6 minutes to perform a choreographed burlesque dance on stage. You do not have to use the full 6 minutes.
  • Please keep your choreography tasteful and confident, with a focus on style and artistry, but avoid anything overly explicit or pornographic. Actions that could be considered pornographic are prohibited by city and state regulations.
  • Improvisational dances are allowed, but strongly discouraged.
  • You must enter and exit the stage using the areas designated as directed.
  • Competitors must begin their performance dressed in cosplay. Your cosplay quality will not be judged separate from your overall performance, but a cosplay is required.
  • All gender identities and body shapes are welcome, but the cosplay worn must be of a canonically male character. Backup dancers can be non-male characters but they must not be the focus of the performance.
  • Characters can be from any type of media. Original characters are not allowed.
  • You can have up to 2 large set pieces for your performance, but please be aware the stage is only 12’ deep by 24’ wide.
  • All applicants will need to identify the source material for their character and what song they intend to perform as part of the competition application.
  • A photo of the cosplay you intend to wear (or a WIP) is required to be submitted as part of the application.
  • This is a burlesque or “striptease” event, so you are expected to remove clothing during the performance, but you may remove only what clothing pieces you are comfortable with.
  • This is not a Drag King event and drag performances are discouraged, but crossplay and heavy makeup is acceptable. Please contact the Event Coordinator if you are uncertain if your cosplay will qualify.
  • The bikini rule applies to all performers: Genitals and nipples must remain covered at all times, and any thong underwear must have a minimum ½” band of fabric at the back (no g-strings). Mesh, fishnet, lace, and other undergarments with a see-through quality must be backed by another fabric so the shape or coloration of the nipples and genitals is not identifiable through the fabric.
  • Per the convention center and the city of Hartford, clothes must be put back on immediately after exiting the stage. The event will have a Stage Kitten to retrieve your clothing so you can strut offstage full cheeked if you desire.
  • No fluids, confetti, glitter, or any substance can be released on stage that cannot be immediately removed.
  • Performers must stay on stage during their set and cannot touch members of the audience
  • Images of pornography or sexual acts (including illustrations) and realistic representation of genitalia (such as using a skin-tone dildo as a prop) are prohibited.
  • Please arrive at the requested set-up time to receive event-specific rules and instructions. Please follow directions given by the staff during this time, as well as during the event. If you do not follow the rules set up by the Event Coordinator and event staff, you will be disqualified from the competition and may be unable to participate in future events.

ConnectiCon and Event Staff reserve the right to inspect your performance outfit, disqualify your performance, forbid you from removing a specific piece of clothing or using a specific prop, and have the authority to remove you from stage immediately if your clothing choices or behavior do not adhere to city and state ordinances as well as the convention rules.

CHECK-IN & AUDIO REQUIREMENTS

  • Once participants arrive at the convention, all applicants must check in at Cosplay HQ to be able to perform. Anyone who is unable to check in before the event must contact the Event Coordinator as soon as possible.
  • All performers must email audio files ahead of time. Please use the .mp3 file format only and bring a backup copy of your audio file to the convention on a flash drive.
  • There will be no live microphones onstage. All audio must be pre-recorded.

COSPLAY IS NOT CONSENT. Do not put your hands on anyone without asking for permission first.

This includes any unwanted physical exposure, body fluid exposure, harassment, or physical contact including kissing, hugging, touching, slapping, pinching, or anything that makes someone uncomfortable.

REMINDER: Physical contact includes unwanted non-sexual contact.

Failure to follow rules will result in immediate dismissal from the game as well as potential banning from the convention.
