PC Keeps Shutting Down
Okay, so I am told my power supply might need to be changed, or my PC needs ot be cleaned, or my fan needs to be replaced. I don’t know the inside of a PC all that well. But it kept shutting down last nigh, I had to clean the PC cause the heatsink was EXTREMELY hot. I was told dust might make it that way. But why is my PC still laggy in game? I just replaced the video card as well.
I got the temp of my PC now, I do not know if it’s normal temp or not and also it was 94 degrees where I live yesterday,
Smart Fan Function
Current System Temp: 28’C / 87’F
Current CPU Temp: 62’C / 145’F
Current System Fan Speed: 2343
Current CPU Fan Speed: 1600
VCore: 1.21V
+12V: 12.03V
VCC5: 4.94V
+3.3V: 3.32V
VBAT (V): 3.18V
3VSB (V): 3.29VPlease can someone help me? >.<
Umm, that seems a question more appropriate for a computer help website/forums than our little own convention forum.
Your best bet is to take it to the store you got it or a computer repair store and get it looked at. There isn’t a whole lot that can be told from just the fan stats. If this has just started happening recently then you should see if it is covered under warranty.
You can also try for a temporary solution if you really need to get on it now by setting a normal room fan pointed at the fan output.
On a side note, If my laptop was running at 62’C, I’d be happy. It normally operates between 70’c and 90’c. I’ve clocked temps as high as 109’Celcius on this thing.

Re: PC Keeps Shutting Down
Seems like your CPU temp is running a tad hot, but normally that wouldn’t shut the machine down repeatedly. Your voltages on the power supply seem fine - normally if the power supply goes, the computer won’t even turn on at all. It could be a fan in the power supply, and the quick way to tell is just put your hand behind the back fan (the one that’s actually built-in to the power supply itself) and feel if there’s any air coming from it.
Do you get any error messages when this happens? Does it happen only during game or randomly?
I know this reponse is quite a bit late, but I’m an IT technician so if you need some more help just send me a PM and I’ll help you out the best I can.

Re: PC Keeps Shutting Down
No error pops up. It just happened that one time.
I cleaned the fan out and everything. I heard that could cause it to shut down.*knocks on wood*

That’s true, a really dusty fan could cause heat problems that could in turn cause a one-time shut down issue like that. If it comes back, let me know!
