Artist Alley Registration?

I have two quick questions. Sorry if it’s not the right thread… I didn’t want to create a new thread ^^;;

1. Can you ask for a table neighbor? I just have one studio that I’d like as my table neighbor and was wondering if it’s possible.

2. For AA Assistant badge do you have to buy weekend badge + AA assistant badge?
I hope not because if that’s the case, that costs more than a membership with 1/2 of table.

Thank you for your help and answers in advance! <!—s:D—>:D<!—s:D—>

1. No. You can e-mail Joe <!—e—>callway.j@connecticon.org<!—e—> and request to be next to someone, but we can’t guarantee it. It was the same way last year.

2. No. You can purchase additional associate memberships @ $35 each. However, if you were here last year, you will get a free associate membership anyway. We will be manually reimbursing return artists for those after all the spaces have been filled.

Re: Artist Alley Registration?

Hi guys i’m sorry if this is a bad place to post this but I have sent several emails to the website and haven’t had a single response so maybe I can get some help here I got a full table for the alley and in my registration it has my name and then in the invoice it lists a full weekend pass for someone’s name that i don’t know who they are. I do need to give my second badge, cause you get two with a full table right, to my friend. And where do we register the second person or do we just receive the second badge and i just give it to him, i only got a half table last year so this is alittle new to me.
sorry again if this a bad place to post.

Yes, I was at AC last year too.
So, just to clarify… I will have to purchase the additional associate membership now and it will be reimbursed AFTER all AC slots are filled. Correct?
Will you be reimbursing through paypal or will we be reimbursed at the convention?
Also, I’m getting a full table (meaning 2 AC memberships) so does that mean I am entitled to 2 associate memberships to be reimbursed?

Sorry if someone else has asked this question before but I’m still a bit confused about this ^^;;

Re: Artist Alley Registration?

I filled out the paperwork and I’m prepared to pay and mail in. The claim is that it will take 3 weeks (at least) to process and give me a tax ID #. Is there a significant risk of the artist alley filling up completely during the time while I am waiting for the tax ID based on the sign-ups already?

Please let me know. Thanks.

If you register online, you get a temporary ID that you can use to register. The certificate gets mailed later on. If you’re mailing it in, you might be able to call them to check on the progress of the application and see if they can tell you your number. There are about 30 slots left now, so you can use your own judgement on that.

That’s the mail-in form. The online form gives you a temp number. (Or it should. They keep changing the website.)

Is there any tables left? And will we be able to get a full table or is it only half tables left?

Yes, there are tables left. You can get a full table. You’ll probably have to purchase two half-tables.

Are there still tables? I know this was asked just a bit ago but my group just found out you had open space and is excited about coming, but we want to know before we get the tax documentation.

Last I knew - there were still about 20 AC memberships still available.

Re: Artist Alley Registration?

I know this is really late, but is it still likely to get a full size table?
Last year I registered kind of late but still managed to get a table. The conformation of it was kind of fuzzy but I still got a table.

Another question I have is regarding the associate’s badge. Last year I received a letter saying I would be entitled to a free badge if I registered for Connecticon 2010:
“Since this was an oversight on our part [tax registration] and we accept the blame, we are offering anyone who purchased an Artist’s Colony Membership for 2009 a free Associate Badge if they register for Connecticon 2010.”

Is this offer still valid? If so, how do I go about registering for it?

Re: Artist Alley Registration?

Okay, I’m kind of wiggly. I have a tax number. I filled out the form on the Site for the Artist’s Colony.
I have the paypal confirmation that I sent you the money. The site says I’m a member which I THINK means you’ve gotten it.

Am I supposed to get more information than this?
Because I haven’t.

This is my first AC with Conneticon, and it’s been a long standing ambition of mine to do it, so I’m just a little worried.

I know the feeling. And you don’t get much more confirmation from CTCon at this point. Best thing to do is print out the confirmations and such. On Thrusday or Friday when you show up have the print outs with you and find where you sign in for the Alley. At least as far as I know, Artist don’t need to wait on the long Pre-Reg lines and can setup on Thursday night.
It is a bit nerve racking BUT I’ve found CTCon Artist Alley to be the most people friendly among other conventions.
