Have fun and when you get there, tell them Grant sent ya….on second thought its probably better you don’t. XD

EDIT: If your without a car to get there, maybe you can arrange some kind of carpool or something?

Life is like a ride at an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it, you think it’s real, because that’s how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up/down and it has thrills/chills. And it’s fun, for a while. When you’ve been on the ride for a long time, you begin to question: ‘Is this real? Or is this just a ride?’ And other people come back to us and they say ‘Hey! Don’t worry, don’t be afraid - ever - because… this is just a ride.’

I guess this thought is more for the people still working on money for saving for college like I am?

Your call but its a good deal and you’ll see a lot of familiar faces there too. Plus, its a flat rate in that you get membership for the rest of the con year so you get your money’s worth.

I feel you there but there are a lot of other members who are in the same boat as you too. Good luck with your idea though, in the months leading up to the con the members here come out of the woodwork but around this time of the year they only kind of casually pop in.

Paying for a membership also pays for the convention itself. Instead of selling tickets to the convention, we sell year-long memberships. You get the weekend of the Convention in July, and 11 M.A.D.s. Plus, as of right now it is the only way to pre-register at the lower rate for the convention, until we get the online system up and running. You can actually SAVE money by going to a MAD.

That, and most social events where you can go to make friends and meet people nowadays require you to pay. Concerts, Raves, Dance Clubs, Rollerskating Rinks, and Fairs to name a few require payment to get in.

As for saving money for college, the membership cost is relatively cheap. About the same price as a single day working at a minimum wage job. Being realistic, you aren’t going to be paying for college before you even go. It’s after college is over that the payments for student loans start coming in force.

I should also add that Cel’s is also in college as well and was a regular CTcon goer well before she was even on staff (or a mod for that matter) while in school, so she’s not just saying for the sake of argument.

To true.

For people who have yet to go to college, it can seem like something big and scary, that will monopolize all your time. Truth be told though, you have way more free time than you ever did in High School. Sure, depending on the major you can have a lot of work to do, but it’s not too difficult to stay on top of it. (And there’s work-study abound, easy way to earn cash while at school)

Only one more year for me though, then it’s time to buckle down in internships and grad school.
