general rule of thumb is first time at the MAD you don’t need to register, so your friend should be good.

Alright thanks! Do we current members need to re-register on the 10th? It seems kind of early to make everyone pay again…

Re: october 10th mad

The ConnectiCon Membership year runs from October 1st, to September 30th of the following year.

To be elligible to participate in the Membership Appreciation Days, you must be a member of ConnectiCon, so yes, your membership dues must be current as of October 10th. You can pay in cash at the door if you wish, we will also be accepting paypal / google checkout payments on site as well.

Starting with this membership year, we will also be introducing a “First M.A.D. Free” policy, so if you want to bring a friend along so they can see all the awesome fun that goes on, they don’t have to worry about purchasing a membership on the spot. And yes, that goes for returning people as well, since we’re starting our first month free tracking as of this M.A.D.

If you have any questions, feel free to post here, or send me a message at <!—e—>goodrow.r@connecticon.org<!—e—>

Re: october 10th mad

I don’t know if anybody reads this, but here’s what I’ve got in store for the October MAD…

A new game tentatively called Terrifying Vistas of Reality, inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s “From Beyond” (both the short story and Stuart Gordon’s film adaptation).  Pure Lovecraftian fun:  running around a room trying to kill the other players, and questioning the value of nearing the mind-altering machine in the center, which can either grant you psychic powers or drive you mad.  Or more likely, both.

Also begging for it’s first run is Murdermaze Mansion if we can round up 6 to 16 people.  And of course, 12 other games of previous MADs (I’m especially thinking of some Mulleywhikens and Avarice and possibly Fury of the Astronauts.  It’d be nice for Chess:Le Rois Le Veut to finally get tested.  I’m also thinking of trying out some of the optional rules on Suicide Squirrels).

I don’t know what screenings David has planned, but I can always bring along some halloweeny-DVDs.

FAVE CON: CTCon, baby!  Yeah!

Um,  usually get an art table…which comes with a pass.  I’d like to go to the Oct. 10th MAD, but I highly doubt Art Table Registration will be up by then.  I don’t want to have to register for myself TWICE.  What do you suggest for Art Colony Registrees?

It’s the first of the year. Hence it is free.

You can register for a regular membership early if you wish, and then upgrade to an Artists’ Colony Membership when they become available. You don’t need to worry about renewing your membership twice.
