Hey all,

Recently I was placed head of Minis gaming for the con and well heres a small taste of whats going on:

The Fall of Draconis, a three day, Warhammer 40000 event depicting the fall of the Ordo Draconis (ConnectiCon’s Space Marine Army) to the vile Necrons, no models are need as they will all be provided, fight as the Emperors Finest or the Ancient Threat.

The Battle for Hill 250, a three day, Flames of War event, in Late ‘44 US Army Command ordered an assault against German postions, around the Italian Town of Firenze, and Hill 250 overlooking it. Fight as the US Army Italian Vets against hardened German veterans. No models need as they will all be provided for this game.

Flames of War Demos for Beginners.

Warhammer 40,000 Demos for Beginners.

Warhammer Fantasy Demos for Beginners.

And Much Much More to come,

IF you have any suggestions and your name is not Matt Daigle, go ahead and PM me with what you want to see.

Tourney info will be up in January.

Laters,

The Infamous Solid Jimmy

Life is like a ride at an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it, you think it’s real, because that’s how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up/down and it has thrills/chills. And it’s fun, for a while. When you’ve been on the ride for a long time, you begin to question: ‘Is this real? Or is this just a ride?’ And other people come back to us and they say ‘Hey! Don’t worry, don’t be afraid - ever - because… this is just a ride.’

Re: A Little Taste of What We Have in Store for You!

My first planned game is the next Napoleonic battle in the Pennisula, Wellington’s first victory, “Vimeiro” in Portugual 1808, 15mm British vs French, the French try to push the newly landed reinforcements out of the Pennisula, but Wellington’s troops occupy a strong defensive position in the hill around Vemeiro.

I’ll probably help with FOW set up, provide some terrain, troops, etc. We’ll talk about that as we go.

3rd game, hmm, probably Great War (WWI AEF vs German), GW’s rule set is a knock off from 40K, thus relatively familiar game dynamics as a skirmish game, 1-2 companies per side with support weapons (mortars, HMG, LMG, grenade launchers, flamethrowers), and a couple prone to break down tanks, haven’t thought up a scenario yet.

Also considering a revival of Mordheim for the fantasy players, or a go at Necromunda, but perhaps another year.  Well that’s the plan for now.  Greg

Re: A Little Taste of What We Have in Store for You!

Thinking ahead.  The big FOW game planned will need at least 3 of those narrow convention tables, my own napoleonic game would benefit from the same larger scale.  You could even go four and put the last table acroos the ends, provide some set up area as well.  Two tables is marginal for a smaller game, not so good for convention size.  Those 4X4 boards would be better on three tables as well for stability, but not as essential for them, and one option if you want to your the Con boards is 3 tables run three sets of boards across for an 4x12 table, although hmmm 4X8 might be enough, 6x 12 better.

Electrical hookup would help, last year Joel and I paid $80 out of pocket for that one, they charge by the outlet.  Allows power for my accompanying videos (this year the US Signal Corps “America Goes Over” from 1918, Silent <with cartoons, also silent>; PBS American Experience:  The Great War 1918; probably run a bunch of WWII movies to parallel the central FOW game (Battle of the Bulge, Walk in the Sun, maybe my DVD’s of Band of Brothers, Bridge Too Far).

If you run into a problem with someone running the Warmachine, I do have Khador and Cryx, up to the Legends/Calvary, could run a demo game if needed, multiple player potential.

I work Thursday and Friday am this Connvention year, may have to do my own set up Friday afternoon. Oh well.  See then.  Greg

Re: A Little Taste of What We Have in Store for You!

Historical War Games:  1)  Vimeiro Naploeonic warfarer in the Pennisula, 1809 15mm, Shako2.  Wellington’s first victory (or this time, loss?)

                          2)  WWI Great War Rules (GW, actually similar to the 4th edition 40K rules they were derived from, Bellieau Woods anyone?  US vs German troops of the Kaiser.

                          3)  Hmm, some much other gaming going on, maybe hold it at two and help out with FOW?  Tempted to run more, but working until Friday afternoon this year, so maybe two is enough.    Greg
