This would be much more awesome if they re-did the anime to match the manga, like in Hellsing Ultimate.

That’s what they’re doing.

The animation style is a little different, but I actually rather like it.  I particularly loved the direct-from-the-manga scene with Ed at the gate as a child in episode two.  You should really check it out.  <!—s;)—><!—s;)—>

i watched the first episode, and i was sort of confused.
seeing as how things are a bit different (i.e. who knows who and when etc.)

(btw, did Ed bleach his hair or something? lol)

My friend watched the second episode, and he said that it is following the manga nearly to a T starting from the second ep.
I have yet to watch the second episode so I dont have any opinion to back that up >.>

Series is truly fantastic so far.  I’m going to have to go back and re-read the beginning of the manga, it’s been faaaar too long since I read it and I don’t remember Nina being in there at all… 
Overall the latest episode wasn’t as heart-wrenching as in the original series, although I did have a bit of a pang at the shot of Nina’s body at the end.  (If anyone at all thinks that’s a spoiler I’ll whack you with a stick.)

Nina was KINDA in the manga, she was there for a tiny bit but then of course Tucker went crazy and—@.@ well u know >.>”

i think everything in the series is lighter

aside from everyone bleaching their hair (i.e. ed and hoenhiem (sp?))
but now everyone living in leore (sp?) like rose’ and such…they arent tan O_O
Rose’s bangs are red instead of pink and shes…white

idk maybe im just being too picky XD

either way, it is following the manga very well which I like.

I cant wait for a certain character to come in *hints at country beside Amestris*

I finally got time to watch the episodes X3 the animation is kinda hard to get used to idk y >.>” but otherwise i think its pretty good ^.^ maybe not that exciting as it was when i first saw FMA b/c i already know pretty much what’s happening but who knows maybe as it gets into the anime i’ll love it X3

I wanna see Havoc and Roy go after Lust too! And Envy, definitely can’t wait to see Envy! Plus Greed and his devil’s nest crew
